VISION
Students educated at Owhata Primary will go on to be proud and confident adults who have acquired an education that enables them to ultimately choose professions that give them a high quality of life and standard of living.

The name “Owhata” has two meanings:
- O – place of Whata – Elevated stage for food or other purposes
- O – food or provision for a journey Whata – Elevated stage or platform
Therefore, both translations are appropriate, that the school is a storehouse of knowledge, where in food or sustenance is acquired by young children for the long journey ahead through life.
